A home inspection is the visual inspection of major components of readily accessible areas and Aardvark will inspect the foundation, structure, roofing, exterior systems, and more. Our inspections also include the inspection of the primary systems such as the electrical system, plumbing system, HVAC systems, and more.

STEVE KLIMA
Steve is a Gulf War veteran who served in the Navy from '86 to '94. Steve started his pest control career in Florida then later relocated to Indiana and co-founded Aardvark. Steve holds his home inspector license in Indiana and Ohio, is Licensed by Indiana to teach primary and continuing education to home inspectors. He holds a Pest Control License in Indiana and Michigan, a Termite Inspection and Treatment License, Radon Tester and Mitigator, and certificates with the EPA and various counties for Lead Testing and Renovator. He is blessed with his beautiful wife, two daughters and two grandchildren. In Steve's free time you can find him out bowling, golfing, or hanging out with his family.
DAVE KLIMA
Dave Klima is the co-founder and President of Aardvark Home Inspectors, Inc. Along with his cousin Steve, Dave co-founded Aardvark more than 20 years ago. The business has evolved into a thriving home inspection business that is nationally ranked in the top 1 percent of the home inspection industry. Dave holds licenses and certifications in Pest/Termite Control, Radon Testing, Radon Mitigation, Mold Testing and Mold Remediation Services. He is also licensed through the State of Indiana to give primary and continuing education to Home Inspectors. Dave speaks at National Home Inspector conferences, coaches and mentors Home Inspectors from various parts of the country, and belongs to 11 different MLS Associations. He is also the co-founder of Inpectedhouses.com which was created to help Sellers, Buyers, Real Estate Agents, and Home Inspectors.
JOE MISHAK
Joe Mishak has worked at Aardvark for 19 years, is a partner in the company, and holds Home Inspector licenses in Indiana and Ohio. Joe has licenses and certifications for Radon Testing, Radon Mitigation, Mold Testing, Mold Remediation, 7A and 7B Pest Control, and Lead Base Paint Testing. Joe routinely teaches continuing education classed to Real Estate Agents and Inspectors and has spoken at National Home Inspection conferences. Joe is the proud father of 3 kids Joe, Makenzie, and Aubrey. Joe has been married to Danielle for 16 years. Joe is a Mishawaka native, and has been in Fort Wayne for 15 years. Joe enjoys spending time at the lake and traveling.
ASPEN SQUIRE
Aspen was born and raised in Fort Wayne. He enjoys spending time with friends and family and being outdoors, hunting and fishing.
BRAD BURKHART
Brad is a graduate from Concordia University with an Associates degree in Business Communications. He has been in the home inspection business for approx. 3 years and active in construction for over 30 years. He enjoys helping others through one of the most exciting time of their lives, purchasing a home. Prior to being a home inspector, Brad was doing handyman services that included repairing items from roofing to foundation. He has a lot of history working with many different realtors, taking care of their customer needs. Brad takes great pride in representing Aardvark Home Inspections and communicates well in the field.
BROCK RITTENHOUSE
Brock is a native of Bluffton Indiana and has a strong background of retail and construction businesses. He owned and operated Rittenhouse Restaurant & Bar and Reception Hall for 30 years and operated commercial bakery for 5 years. He owned and operated Rittenhouse Properties LLC for 20 years where he remodeled homes and old buildings for commercial and residential use in northern Indiana. He buys and sells commercial properties across northern Indiana. And constructed new commercial buildings and leases out in northern Indiana. Brock has inspected hundreds of new and old commercial and residential properties in Fort Wayne and surrounding areas.
CORY ADE
Cory has been with Aardvark going on 5 years. He has a passion to know everything about homes and systems of new and old and enjoys getting to know his customers. He has been married for 19 years and has 2 children. Also, he enjoys the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
COURTNEY MATTHEWS
Courtney has been a part of the Aardvark team for almost five years. She is a working mother of three young children and two rambunctious dogs who all enjoy spending quality time together whenever possible. Courtney has previously earned a degree in Cosmetology and is currently working on her associate’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography at Lake Michigan College. She enjoys the outdoors and tries to keep the family as active as possible.
DAN SMITH
Dan is a Fort Wayne native. Graduated from Elmhurst High School and then went on to get a degree from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. He has been married to his loving wife Rose for over 27 years. He has one son and one grandson that he enjoys spending quality time with. Dan is an avid Hot Rodder having built several cars. In the summer he enjoys time on the water skiing and enjoying time with family and friends. Dan is also very involved with the Mizpah Shrine donating much of his time to helping the kids.
DAVID GEBERT
David is a Fort Wayne native with a strong construction background. David was in excavating for 6 years locally, before becoming a home inspector. He has been an Indiana licensed home inspector for four years, and his passion is in inspecting usual homes. David is also an Indiana licensed bartender.
DAVID "ALLEN" GUMBERT
Allen was born in Fort Wayne but raised in El Paso Texas. He loves kayaking, vintage stereo equipment, and working on home projects. He has been happily married since 2011 and loves to travel with his family and friends. Buying a home is one of the biggest decisions a person can make in life. Allen is committed to providing Aardvark customers with the crucial information needed when completing the purchase of their home, with confidence.
DANIELLE MISHAK
Danielle has been with Aardvark for 7 years. Danielle’s background was in the medical field before she came to Aardvark. She grew up playing volleyball and still enjoys playing. She is a mom to 3 children, Jojo, Mackenzie, and Aubrey. She also loves her two yorkies, Zeus and Zoey. She has been married to Joe for 15 years and has enjoyed most of them
JENNIFER LONGSWORTH
Jennifer has been at Aardvark for a little over 5 years. She is married to Tim and has a 9 year old daughter, Macie. Her and her family love living in the country, camping, and spending time outdoors.
JESSICA MAXWELL
Jessica is our Marketing Specialist and has been with Aardvark since March of 2018. She is a graduate of Bishop Dwenger High School and continued on to get a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration Management from Indiana Tech. Jessica has been happily married to her husband Sean since 2016 and has 3 children, Braxton, Ava, and Jonah. In her free time, Jessica enjoys watching her kids play travel sports, spending time with family and friends and enjoying the lake.
JIM WHITTAKER
Jim believes working as a home inspector has given me him the opportunity of meeting new and interesting people. Also with his past and ongoing experience, gives him a chance to help others understand the operations and condition of their new homes and possible unforeseen costly issues. Jim's past experience includes: 40 years of residential and commercial construction, 3 years as a journeyman carpenter with local 413, 28 years self employed as a general contractor designing and building homes, additions, general remodeling, storm, fire and water restorations, specialized in wood foundations and supper insulated homes, owning rental properties and flipping homes.
JOHN RENZ
John has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering/Technology Education and attended Purdue University in West Lafayette. At Purdue his studies included construction, mechanical systems, and engineering education. John has worked in the commercial building maintenance industry, and began work in the home inspection industry in 2015. He joined the Aardvark team in 2016. John fosters a love of real estate, and has a special interest in historical homes.
JORDAN DILLON
Jordan was born and raised in Fort Wayne. He graduated from Huntington University with a Bachelor’s in Biblical Studies. He spent the last 10 years as a precision machinist and floor supervisor at a local machine shop. Jordan also has a love for historic houses. He and his wonderful wife, Carmen, have renovated their 1908 home in the historic Williams Woodland neighborhood. They have been married for 13 years and proudly live in The 07 with their 3 incredible kids; Violet, Levi, and Olive. Jordan is excited to bring all of his skills and experiences to the Aardvark team.
JOSE ESTRADA
Jose has been working at Aardvark for 11 years. He started here as a pest control tech and moved up to pest control manager. Jose is fluent in Spanish and English. He recently became a home inspector who is excited about the change and looks forward to helping you in your selling or buying experience.
JOSH LUTTMAN
Enjoying what you do for a living makes it easy to get up and get after it in the morning. Being an home inspector for over 3 years now combined with 20+ years of concrete and construction experience makes the shoe fit pretty well. I carry the mindset of treat every job likes it’s my own that was taught to me from my parents. JUSTIN ARNOLD
Meet Justin Arnold! Justin has been working in the construction trade since 2003, he has carried a contractors license since 2008. Justin has an Associate of Science degree in Architectural Engineering from Purdue. He loves working with people, especially first time home buyers. We are honored to have him on our team!
KAILEY CASARES
Kailey Mercado has worked as a Home Inspection Coordinator at Aardvark for the past 5 years. In the last year she has gotten married and had her first child. She loves being at home with her new baby and traveling with her husband.
KAREN KLIMA
Karen spent 15 years in the insurance industry before joining the Aardvark team 20 years ago. She currently holds the position of an Operations and Human Resource Manager. She is a mother of two daughters and a grandmother to two grandkids. Karen has served on several non-for-profits boards. In her free time, you can find her playing with her grandchildren, shopping with her daughters, or reading.
KEVIN BARNES
Kevin has been buying, selling, and renting homes and apartments in the Michiana area for over 20 years. He earned his home inspection license in 2015 and enjoys being in the many different homes throughout Michiana. Kevin feels it rewarding to meet and talk with home buyers and know that his efforts are important to them to help them with their home buying experiences.
KRIS HARTWIG
Kris has wide variety of past professional and personal work experience that has lent itself well to his career in home inspecting. From early training in roofing while employed during summer break, passing the Residential Electrical Wiring course, and countless construction and renovation projects, to his time working in the design and engineering department for a major corporation and even his work in sales, each experience has broaden his knowledge base and helped in his ability to view things from different facets. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, discipline and attention to detail are well instilled traits Kris relies upon to ensure a most reliable and highest quality inspection experience.
LANON FIELDS
Married with a 8 month old boy, 1 dog, and 2 cats. When I’m not working, I’m out fighting crime; delivering vigilante justice to Grant County. Okay, maybe I’m spending time with my boy watching Clifford.
LIVIA JAHN
Liv has worked at Aardvark for a year now. She loves traveling, going to concerts and spending time with friends and family.
LOWELL DELGRANGE
Lowell’s father was a building contractor and he grew up building new homes and doing remodel jobs. He is married with two sons. We love to camp and fall camping is our favorite. Our family all enjoys volunteering at our church.
MATT KIRSCH
Matt Kirsch is in his 5th year as home inspector for Aardvark. Matt has been involved in the building trades for 20 years, peforming commercial painting, landscaping and general contracting. Before Aardvark, Matt was an educator, teaching Language Arts and Social Studies for 9 years. In his free time, Matt stays busy with his parish and large family.
MICHAEL MADDEN
Michael graduated from Saint Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana with a degree in Business Administration. He has been with Aardvark for nearly 3 years. Michael enjoys spending quality time with his girlfriend in Indianapolis or socializing locally with his friends. In his down time, he will drive to the beach to take a nice long walk, or can be found binge-watching his favorite Netflix documentary.
RANDY MEE
Randy was born and raised in Fort Wayne. He has always had an interest in the construction field and enjoys working on projects around the house. Randy has been a firefighter for the Fort Wayne Fire Department for 21 years and is currently assigned to Station 15. Because of the unique firefighter schedule, Randy has the opportunity to pursue a second career as a home inspector for Aardvark. He has been married to his wife, Kelley, for 22 years and has a daughter, Meredyth, who is 20 years old and attends PFW. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, watching Cubs baseball, and playing golf.
REID MCALLISTER
Reid was born and raised in Fort Wayne. He has been with Aardvark going on a year now. He enjoys golfing and spending time with friends and family.
TODD PATTERSON
Todd is married with two kids. He enjoys coaching softball, and spending time with his family when he’s not working. He wears many hats at Aardvark!
